The Carrot, Coffee beans & Egg

salam,
I think I am gonna become a Story teller !!!! But I can't help it. I come across some beautiful stories, I just cant keep them for myself. Here is another Nice story, very beautifully told and has lot of meaning to it. And after I read these stories I get this goody goody kinda feeling whichI fee I must share it with you all.
I really wish many of my blogger friends read the stories I put in here coz even if its for a while ,they make us see a perspective which we often fail to see in certain circumstances. Its like getting a view of the other side of the coin and make us wonder !!!
Read on and enjoy and pls do let those comments coming in coz I wanna knw.
And by the way I am a Coffee Bean !!!
The Carrot, Coffee beans & Egg
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her.
She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose. Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil, without saying a word.In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.
Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what you see." "Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied. Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg. Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, "What does it mean, mother?" Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity -- boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water."Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?"
Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength? Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff?
Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean??

Be A Lake

Salam ,
I am back and this time with another story upon which we can reflect. I found it good. But I also did wonder if actually when we are in that particular circumstance , can we all even think of becoming lakes???

The old Master instructed the unhappy young man to put a handful of salt in a glass of water and then to drink it. "How does it taste?" the Master asked."Awful," spat the apprentice.
The Master chuckled and then asked the young man to take another handful of salt and put it in the lake.
The two walked in silence to the nearby lake and when the apprentice swirled his handful of salt into the lake, the old man said, "Now drink from the lake."As the water dripped down the young man's chin, the Master asked, "How does it taste?" "Good!" remarked the apprentice.
"Do you taste the salt?" asked the Master. "No," said the young man.
The Master sat beside this troubled young man, took his hands, and said,"The pain of life is pure salt; no more, no less.
The amount of pain in life remains the same, exactly the same. But the amount we taste the 'pain' depends on the container we put it into.So when you are in pain, the only thing you can do is to enlarge your sense of things ..... Stop being a glass. Become a lake!"

Aashaayen Khile Dil Ki

salam ,

I knw its been quite some time I have posted. kindly excuse me for it. I heard a song on the radio the other day and I found it soo soo inspiring and sounded soo good to my ears.

I found out it was from the movie Iqbal. A great movie about a deaf and mute boy who goes on to become a crickter. I remmeber seeing it very long ago but didnt knw this song Was in it. But if I recall the movie, I realise it fits there perfectly. Its soo encouraging and inspiring.

people who lack certain things in them have no reason at all to be signed off as they cannot do anything. Infact I believe that when allah subhana wa taala deprives a human being of something He gives them somethings more valuabe and instils in them certain qualities which I feel is far greater than what the normal people posses.

There is indeed a beautiful compensation which He makes when he deprives somebody of something. And people who are deprived of certain important things like speech, hearing, health, mobility, sight, etc they are blessed wid courage indeed to push beyond their limits.sometimes songs and films like these makes them realise their hidden potential.

Many healthy people have everything but they lack the courage and confidence, which is something very difficult to inculcate. I feel they can indeed learn from such people .

I pray that Allah Grants us this wisdom to acknowledge that there is indeed a better trait with which we may be blessed when we r deprived of something and we should be thankful to Him for the same.

Try listening to the song once its great. I have the lyrics for the same. Enjoy and reflect. Hope it triggers courage with in us!!!! It did indeed trigger me !

The Real Meaning Of Peace

Salam,
I found this story, depicting Peace in the most fascinating way i ve ever come across. read on !!!

There once was a king who offered a prize to the artistwho would paint the best picture of peace. Many artiststried. The king looked at all the pictures. But therewere only two he really liked, and he had to choose between them.
One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror for peaceful towering mountains all aroundit. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds. All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace.
The other picture had mountains, too. But these were rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky, from which rain fell and in which lightning played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all.
But when the king looked closely, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her nest. There, in the midst of the rush of angry water, sat the mother bird on her nest - in perfect peace.
Which picture do you think won the prize? The king chose the second picture. Do you know why?
"Because," explained the king, "peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of peace."

QUE SERA SERA

salam
I keep telling myself that I will post here often but u knw how life is ??? doesnt lets us relax. so today I thought I should finally write.
Past few days, in fact the past week was a depressing week for me. Somtimes some things happens in life which almost makes u feel as if its the end of the world !! But Alhamdulillah I am gifted with that ability to lift myself away from such drawbacks. And all credit goes to that Suprme POWER who is the most Powerful , Allah Subhana wa taala.
Alhamdulillah I am feeling a lot better these days but still somewhere behind my mind something goes on which says what now??? where will this path on which I am treading lead to ? such questions keep popping up. But i ve decided, que sera sera !!!! what ever will be, will be. The future is not our' s to see!!! que sera sera.
Sometimes some songs have such true and deep meaning right??? we realise it when we are in a particular situation.
I remmember this was a song which I heard in school when I was in 4th standard. I must have been about 8 or 9 yrs old then. How would I know what it meant then? But I knw it now !!
It really gives a sort of relief and comfort when we actually leave everything to time and dont bother about whats gonna happen next. Though its very difficult to achieve such sate of mind But once we decide it that way it fills us with a sort of ease and relief !!
At this I remmember a dialouge of a Hindi movie which says, kabhi kabhi Us Pr bhi chodna padta hai !! ( sometimes we Have to leave it to the Almighty) but i feel kabhi kabhi nahi , not only sometimes but always, if we leave it to Him, HE WILL TAKE CARE ! HE DEFINITELY WILL!!INSHALLAH!!!!

Keep well till next time and pls do keep those comments coming coz i am waiting !

I have realised that its not that dificult to actually write down whats going on inside you. infact i felt a lot better after doing that. this has opend new gateways for peace and its has served as a great relief from stress.

people say I am an ocean of emotions and knowledge but i still feel that what i know is just a drop of the ocean. I am yet to find out the depth of the ocean. I know its not possible. But as WE drown we will come to know. There are many many things which i want to share . which i have realised only when i started posting here and u know what ??I am really excited .

If any of my dearest visitors would like me to post about any particualr topic pls do drop a line.

Inshallah i will try not to dissappoint .

Mujhe bhi log kehte hain, ki yeh jalve paraaye hain
Mere hamraah bhi rusvaaiyaan hain mere maajhi ki
Tumhaare saath bhi guzri hui raaton ke saaye hain
Chalo ek baar phir se..
Taarruf rog ho jaaye to usko bhoolnaa behtar
Taalluk bojh ban jaaye to usko todnaa achchha
Voh afsaana jise anjaam tak laana na ho mumkin
Use ek khoobsoorat mod dekar chhodna achchha
Chalo ek baar phir se..
